Tortona Design Week 2016, creative energy. A high-impact social cultural mix!

The 2016 Edition of the Salone del Mobile is coming and so also the Fuorisalone, with districts in Milan who, from 12 to 17 April, will enliven the city.

The first district to be organized was just what “Tortona” acting as a forerunner to what would later become one of the most important events of the design, to become, fifteen years later, a new benchmark for the industry. Under the patronage of the municipality of Milan, the purpose of the district is precisely the development of events, installations and projects, privileging cultural experimentation and research.

The proposals of the really active in the district will join the projects of designers from around the world, especially from China, France, Germany, Japan, England, Holland, Poland, Czech Republic and Spain.

Here, a project that will lead to limit the boundaries of design; Marcel Wanders that, besides being present with Moooi, will preview a design concept for children in collaboration with the company that makes the Cybex strollers; the creative duo of Formafantasma with the design of the concept and exhibition design for Lexus and Mario Cucinella Architects who will present the Sos – School of Sustainability (a school open to young creatives and researchers, professionals and businesses to develop innovative projects with a positive impact on society, the economy and the environment, through research and experimentation, the objective of which is to train designers and architects sensitive to environmental issues) into the space of the Basement 2 of Superstudio will be made workshops on topics such as architecture post carbon and re-design, will be presented the book ‘ Creative ‘ Empathy and exposed the works of students from the school. The area of Tortona, and therefore also the Fuorisalone, relies on the presence of three prestigious: the Armani/Silos, the Museo delle Culture Basic Mudec – and Milan. The latter will be inaugurated next March 30, in the historical premises of the former Ansaldo and Tortona, during the Design Week, will be the location of the info point and press point officers of the event, in addition to hosting a bookstore where you can purchase volumes about design and architecture and entertain themselves with some writers. The Armani/Silos, the new Base will house exhibitions Mudec and on the occasion of the 21ST triennial.
